WRV will be participating in the Walnut Lane Bridge Rededication Ceremony on October 18, 2008. Stop by our table and talk to us about upcoming restoration projects in the Wissahickon!
More about the event:
Come out to the Walnut Lane Bridge on October 18th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm for the celebration of the centennial of the bridge opening in 1908. The bridge will be closed to traffic as local officials will dedicate the bridge as a historic landmark during a marker dedication ceremony. Plenty of food, music and tables from community organizations will provide entertainment for the whole family. The ceremony is a reenactment of the bridge's historic opening, and will conclude with local school students marching toward the center of the bridge singing "Hail Philadelphia."
