Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers

Mishkan Shalom service day at Daisy and Pachella Fields, Roxborough

WRV and volunteers from Mishkan Shalom will continue fall planting at WRV's Pachella and Daisy Field sites in Roxborugh.

The Pachella Field site is near the intersection of Henry Avenue and Livezey Lane in Roxborough. Pull through the bright yellow gate and park near the pavillion.

The Daisy Field site is located off of E. Hermit Ln in Roxborough. Drive down the gravel road off off Hermit Ln until you reach the parking lot.

WRV supplies gloves and tools. Wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately to be outdoors for 2 hours. Pants are recommended and feel free to bring bug spray. Bring plenty of water. Keep in mind that you will get dirty!

VOLUNTEER WITH WRV

Join us on any 1st Saturday or 3rd Sunday of each month to take part in our on-going restoration activities. Project details and directions to the worksite will be posted. Sign up to receive email updates.

WRV will provide tools and gloves. Volunteers should bring their own water and dress appropriately (long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and sturdy shoes). Additional volunteer work days are available; please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Susannah Beckett, for more information at (215) 951-0330 ext. 2175. Please RSVP to susannahb@rhd.org, so we can contact you in case we need to cancel due to severe weather.

Sustainable Trails Initiative

Join WRV and Friends of the Wissahickon throughout the fall to work on our Sustainable Trails project at the Orange Trail below Bell's Mill Road. We will be restoring the site between Bell's Mill Road and the Red Covered Bridge. Please click here for work dates and more information.

The calendar is updated on a monthly basis. Dates and Locations may change due to unexpected circumstances. Please visit this page regularly. Restoration activities are cancelled if it is raining. RSVP by calling Susannah Beckett at 215-951-0330 ext 2101 or e-mail at wrv.info@rhd.org. More volunteer work days are available for groups. We also need volunteers to help with some office related work and tool maintenance.
