Philadelphia Univ at Wises Mill In 2005, WRV hosted more than 35 different groups for more than 130 trips into the Wissahickon. Together we logged over 4,000 volunteer hours at nine sites across the park. These groups repaired eroded trail beds, eradicated invasive plants from more than fifteen acres, removed countless bags of trash, and planted over 2,000 trees and shrubs. WRV educated the youth groups about area native plants and the importance of maintaining our natural resources, and adult groups gained a new appreciation for the Wissahickon, one of Philadelphia's great treasures.
Some of our groups come to the Wissahickon once a year, while others make repeat trips throughout the year. Some of our groups are interested trail repair, while others want to work exclusively on plantings. Whatever the interest of your group, please contact our director by email or by calling 215-951-0330 ext. 2101. We will work with you to ensure that your group has a great volunteer experience!
